About Us

Founded in 1984 in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn, we are a multi-ethnic Church serving all five boroughs of New York City and the greater New York region with the message and love of Jesus Christ. Since our church’s inception we have sought to be a family of families where people from all backgrounds and stations in life can experience transforming love, authentic relationships, and a new sense of purpose. One of the hallmarks over our 30+ year history has been the incredible number of people who have discovered a sense of calling and purpose from God, which is expressed through our various ministries both inside and outside the church. Our church is also a place where people of all ages experience a vibrant relationship with God and with others.

We fully embrace the historic Christian faith expressed in all the ecumenical creeds of the universal church (for example, the Apostles and Nicene Creed as seen below).

Our main campus is located in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn. We have just recently opened up a campus in Staten Island.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

All that we do at Resurrection Church stems from our mission:

Renew Hope: We believe a hope in Jesus is the only true hope in this world. By pointing people’s hearts to the story of who Jesus is and what he did for the world, we believe hope will be renewed in our communities.

Restore Families: Families are essential in creating communities & nations. We believe if you want to change the world, start with the family. True restoration of broken families is found through the power of the gospel. We believe Jesus wants to restore individual families and the church at large. Join us as we create a home of believers who love one another, uplift one another and serve one another.

Serve Our Communities: A true servant’s heart is the result of meditating on the good news of Jesus. We want to serve our communities in the best way possible. This is one of the many ways people outside of the church can see a glimpse of the love, acceptance and compassion of Jesus.
